Peacock graduated from Cambridge with a social anthropology honours degree in 1970,
and joined Unilever as a management trainee attached to RBL, its market research agency.
After four years with Unilever (working principally in Europe and Africa, including a year
in Nigeria), he moved into advertising as a research group head at Masius DArcy MacManus.
There he made the transition to account management, in which he spent the next eight
years, finishing up as an account director at SJIP/BBDO (UK). In 1983, he moved across to
planning, becoming Associate Director of Research & Planning at Dorland Advertising
and, two years later, Planning Director of CDP. In 1988, he started Perspective. His experience spans 8 countries and over 20 product fields (ranging from confectionery to consumer durables). He has particular expertise in strategic planning, marketing-oriented change management programmes, and new product development (he has helped to launch over 40 new products in the last 23 years).
